I had a positive experience during my stay at Hodson Bay. The staff were exceptionally helpful, especially Lisa and the chefs who catered to my dietary needs during breakfast. The room was bright, clean, and spacious enough for my wheelchair. I appreciated the accessibility features provided in the bathroom and enjoyed the well-maintained leisure facilities.

Room 352 was super spacious with a nice flat-screen TV, free toiletries like shampoo and body soap, and comfy beds that helped us sleep well. Breakfast had lots of options, including freshly cooked items. The indoor pool was clean and warm. Staff were friendly, making our stay very pleasant. Spa facilities looked great too.

Sadly, cleaning seemed overlooked—especially in the pool area. We faced delays during check-in and some staff appeared untrained. communication could have been clearer about amenities.

We enjoyed our family getaway! The pool provided great fun for the kids, while the onsite dining options were excellent. The breakfast spread, though busy, featured delicious local fare. Just a tip, aim for early breakfast to avoid the crowd and noise.

Lack of proper cleanliness in some areas was noticeable, I found a receipt under the bed from a meal that had marked the cleaning standard. Dining options require planning, as reservations are necessary, which might hinder spontaneity. The wait service was hit-or-miss, particularly in the bar area, where I felt more like a forgotten customer than a welcomed guest. It’s slightly frustrating to be left juggling a bottle of wine while navigating the hotel. Also, the temperature in the room was difficult to regulate during my stay, which might not work for everyone’s comfort level.

Just a great fit for exploring town in Athlone with incredible value for money. The pancake machine at breakfast was a fun surprise! Make sure to check out the spa amenities.

Great place for a vacation

The room was amazing, we had this spectacular view with large windows, it was just breathtaking. The dinner was cooked to perfection, they served us some divine mains and the waiter even brought us a glass of prosecco for waiting, now that's service.

It wasn't inexpensive but still acceptable.
